About Me

I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to the US at the age of 12. I experienced first hand how difficult it can be to adapt to a completely new environment and to handle new life transitions. I graduated from UTSA with a bachelors in Psychology and then earned a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. I am a person that firmly believes that taking care of your mental and emotional wellbeing is imperative in leading a fulfilling life. I try to do this by tending to my hobbies (music and art), as well as spending time with my friends, family and dogs.

My Approach

Hi, I’m César, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with several years of experience working in the mental health field. My approach is grounded in empathy, non-judgment, and empowerment. I believe that mental health is one of the most vital aspects of our well-being, and nurturing it can lead to profound, positive change.

Having gone through my own personal journey with therapy, I understand how transformative the process can be. I strive to create a space where you feel truly heard and supported. In this space, your emotions are valid, your challenges are respected, and your growth is the focus. I view therapy as a collaborative process where we explore what’s hurting, build on your strengths, and develop the tools to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I often say emotions are like children: you can’t let them drive the car, but you also can’t shove them in the trunk. Learning how to sit with and navigate our emotions is a skill and one I’m passionate about helping you build.

What to Expect from Therapy with Me

In our work together, you can expect a safe, open, and compassionate environment where your story matters. Whether you're working through trauma, navigating big life changes, or just trying to better understand your emotions, I’m here to support you at your pace.

You can expect:

  • A collaborative and strengths-based approach

  • Skills to help manage distressing thoughts or emotions

  • Space to process difficult experiences

  • Encouragement to grow into your most authentic self

  • A culturally sensitive and inclusive experience

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about discovering tools, perspectives, and truths that can guide you toward healing. My goal is to walk alongside you as you make sense of your story and create a path forward that feels right for you.

My Specialties

My background includes working as a crisis line specialist, where I supported individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological struggles. I have extensive experience with:

  • Suicidal ideation

  • Self-harm

  • Trauma and abuse

  • Substance use and addiction

  • Mental health crises and emotional dysregulation

I work with individuals from all walks of life and am especially passionate about supporting marginalized and underserved communities. As a bilingual counselor, I offer services in both English and Spanish to help bridge. (Especially Spanish-speaking immigrants)
